Dating Sen. Bongbong Marcos, may bagong hirit sa pagbasura sa kanyang election protest

Naniniwala ang kampo ni dating Senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos na nagkamali ang Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) sa pagbasura sa kanyang electoral protest laban kay Vice President Leni Robredo.

Sa kanyang 95-pahinang mosyon sa Korte Suprema, sinabi ni Marcos na isinakripisyo ang kanyang karapatan na ginagarantiyahan ng Saligang Batas.

Hiniling ni Marcos na baligtarin ng PET ang pagbasura sa kanyang protesta.

“What is at stake here is the second highest position in the country. This is not something to be taken lightly. To dismiss such an important election protest because of “the absence of procedural rules” is an affront to our Constitutional right of due process,” ayon sa mosyon ni Marcos.

Diin nito, hindi dapat mabalewala ang higit 14 milyong bumoto sa kanya noong 2016 elections dahil lamang sa teknikalidad kayat dapat aniyang magpatuloy ang pagdinig sa kanyang protesta.

Noong Pebrero 16, bumoto ang mayorya ng mga mahistrado na maibasura na ang protest ani Marcos, ngunit isinapubliko ang desisyon makalipas ang dalawang buwan.
