Nagkaroon ng balasahan sa humigit-kumulang 430 Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Bahagi ito ng hakbang ng ahensya upang maiwasan ang korupsyon sa kanilang mga tauhan na nakatalaga sa nasabing paliparan.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, nasa kabuuang 356 frontline immigration officers na nakatalaga sa NAIA ang apektado ng terminal rotation scheme na ipatutupad sa May 12.
Maliban sa BI officers na naka-assign sa immigration booths, na-reshuffle rin ang terminal assignments ng 79 immigration supervisors.
“The objective of this rotation scheme is to avoid fraternization in the workplace, which studies have pinpointed as a possible source of corruption in government,” paliwanag ni Morente.
Ayon naman kay Atty. Carlos Capulong, BI Port Operations Division (POD) chief, layon ng balasahan na masigurong sapat ang manpower para maserbisyuhan ang mga bumibiyahe base sa dami ng flights at passengers.
“We also want to create a positive work environment by seeing to it that the workload of our immigration officers and their duty supervisors are evenly distributed,” ani Capulong.
Sa pamamagitan nito, mapapagbuti rin aniya ang kaalaman ng mga tauhan bilang border control officers ng bansa.
Ani Capulong, aprubado na ni Morente ang kaniyang rekomendasyon na magkaroon ng rotation sa terminal assignments of BI-NAIA personnel kada tatlo o apat na buwan.
“With more than half of our personnel already inoculated with the first dose, we have more confidence in performing our daily duties,” saad ni Capulong.
