QC LGU, namahagi ng 1.2-M face mask sa lungsod

Sinimulan na ng Quezon City government sa pamamagitan ni Mayor Joy Belmonte ang pamamahagi ng 1.2 milyong face masks at 300,000 face shields sa mga mahihirap na residente sa 142 barangay sa lungsod.

Ilan sa mga nakatanggap ng face mask at face shield ay vendors, TODA drivers at senior citizens.

“We are giving out more face masks and face shields especially to our indigent residents who cannot afford to buy, so that hopefully we can reduce the number of health protocol violators,” pahayag ng alkalde.

Nakababahala kasi aniya ang maraming bilang ng health protocol violators.

Paiigtingin aniya ng QC LGU ang kanilang kampanya para magbigay ng babala at pagmultahin ang mga mahuhuling hindi nakasuot o hindi tama ang pagsusuot ng face mask.

“We will exercise maximum tolerance and enforce our local ordinances in the meantime,” saad ni Belmonte at aniya pa, “As much as possible we want to avoid detaining them because we lack space in our detention facilities and the virus could easily spread in enclosed spaces.”

“Only those who resist, defy or assault enforcers will be detained,” dagdag pa nito.

Base sa datos ng QCPD, nasa 825 katao ang nahuli mula May 6 hanggang 5:00, Martes ng umaga (May 11) na lumabag sa city ordinance sa tamang pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield.

Sa nasabing bilang, 7,600 ang binigyan ng babala habang 7,886 ang pinagmulta.

Sa ngayon, nagpapatuloy pa rin ang distribusyon nito sa lungsod.
