Ikawalang taxiway ng Mactan-Cebu International Airport posibleng magamit na sa Hunyo
Inanunsyo ng Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) na inaantay na lamang nila ang pahintulot ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) upang magamit ang bagong gawang taxiway ng Paliparan.
Ayon kay MCIA officer-in-charge Glenn Napuli, umaasa sila na sa buwan ng Hunyo ay magagamit nila ang ikalawang taxiway.
“We are awaiting approval of the CAAP. And we’re hoping by next month, we will be able to utilize the taxiway. As of the moment, we allow several airplanes to use the second taxiway to park their planes,” saad ni Napuli.
Ngayong linggo, pinasinayaan ni Department of Transporation Secretary Arthur Tugade ang P222M na proyekto na bahagi ng expansion project ng MCIA.
Dahil sa proyekto kaya ng mag-accommodate ng paliparan ng 50 eroplano kada oras mula sa kasalukuyang 35 lamang.
Maari na rin makapagparada ng kanilang mga aircraft ang mga airline companies sa MCIA tuwing may mga emergency o kaya naman ay bagyo.
