Kinumpirma ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang na itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Police Lt. General Guillermo Eleazar bilang susunod na hepe ng Philippine National Police.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, kumpiyansa ang Palasyo na maayos na magagampanan ni Eleazar ang bagong tungkulin base na rin sa kanyang professionalism, dedikasyon at integridad.
“General Eleazar’s track record of professionalism, dedication and integrity speaks for itself. We are therefore confident that he will continue the reform initiatives of his predecessors and lead the police organization to greater heights,” pahayag ni Roque.
Hangad aniya ng Palasyo ang matagumpay na panunungkulan ni Eleazar.
“All the best to General Eleazar as the new PNP chief,” pahayag ni Roque.
Papalitan ni Eleazar si PNP Chief Debold Sinas na magre-retiro sa Mayo 8.
Anim na buwan lamang na manunungkulan si Eleazar bilang PNP chief at magre-retiro sa Nobyembre 13 ngayong taon dahil sa pagsapit sa mandatory retirement age sa PNP na 56 anyos.
