Mabilis na pagpapalabas ng P10.6B pondo ng NTF-ELCAC kinuwestiyon ni Sen. Drilon
Misteryo para kay Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon ang mabilis na pagpapalabas ng P10.6 bilyon sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) sa loob ng nakalipas na dalawang buwan.
Aniya ang pagpapalabas ng pondo ay nangyari kasabay ng mga panawagan na bawian ng pondo ang naturang opisina.
Ipinagtataka ni Drilon na ang P8,000 ayuda sa mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor ay halos hindi umuusad, samantalang mabagal din ang pagpapalabas ng pondo para sa Marawi City Rehabilitation program, ngunit ang NTF-ELCAC ay binigyan ng P7.54 bilyon nitong nakalipas na buwan.
Noong Marso P3.14 bilyon ang ipinalabas para sa NTF – ELCAC, na sa 2021 General Appropriation Act ay pinondohan ng P19 bilyon.
“Why the seeming rush to release the budget? Where will the P10.68 billion be used? Yet, the government is giving priority to NTF-ELCAC’s anti-insurgency program rather than use the funds to expand ayuda, buy vaccines and feed the poor,” sabi ng senador.
Nakuha ni Drilon ang datos mula sa Department of Budget, samantalang pag-amin niya nakatanggap na ng financial report mula sa NTF – ELCAC sina Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, na namumuno sa Committee on National Defense, at Sen. Sonny Angara, chairman ng Finance Committee.
Nangako si Angara na hihingi ng detalyadong ulat ng pinaggamitan ng pondo ng NTF-ELCAC.
