Pagdedeklara ni Pangulong Duterte ng state of calamity sa local hog raising industry, hinihintay na

Mahigit isang buwan na ang lumipas nang ipasa sa Senado ang isang resolusyon para sa pagdedeklara ng state of calamity dulot ng African swine fever (ASF).

Ayon kay Sen. Francis Pangilinan, kailangan ang deklarasyon para magkaroon ng pondo sa pagtugon sa sakit na nanalasa sa mga baboy sa bansa.

Aniya, suportado ng ilang opisyal ng gobyerno ang resolusyon at hinihintay na lang na aprubahan ito ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“Our concern precisely is that the bureaucracy hopefully can act faster because the Senate Committee on Agriculture already endorsed this March 9, and it’s already April 17. If it’s a state of calamity declaration, one would like to think we should act swiftly,” sabi ni Pangilinan, ang pangunahing nag-akda ng Senate Resolution No. 676.

Diin nito, kung talagang seryoso ang gobyerno na tugunan ang sitwasyon dapat ay agad nang bigyan tulong ang lokal na industriya sa pamamagitan ng pagdedeklara ng state of calamity ni Pangulong Duterte.
