Kabayanihan ni Lapu-Lapu dapat na magsilbing inspirasyon ayon kay Pangulong Duterte
Hinakayat ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang publiko na gawing inspirasyon ang mga bayani at mga frontliners na ngayon ay nakikipaglaban sa pandemya sa COVID-19.
Sa mensahe ng Pangulo sa quincentennial Commemorations of the Victory of Mactan, sinabi nito na sinuong ni Lapu-Lapu ang mga dayuhang mananakop sa Mactan para idepensa ang bansa may limang dekada na ang nakararaan.
Hindi aniya nagpalupig si Lapu-Lapu at ipinaglaban ang bayan.
Ayon sa Pangulo, maihahalintulad ang mga frontliner ngayon kay Lapu-Lapu.
“Today, we remember their gallantry by honoring the worthy heirs of Lapu-Lapu’s legacy. Our medical and essential frontliners who in face of danger caused by Covid-19 pandemic continue to risk their lives, their own lives to ensure for the safety of their fellow Filipinos,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“Let us draw inspiration from the heroes of the past and present as we overcome pandemic and rebuild a stronger and more resilient nation,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Hangad ng Pangulo na maging makabuluhan ang paggunita sa quincentennial Commemorations of the Victory of Mactan.
“I wish everyone a meaningful commemoration. Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino. Mabuhay ang idol kong si Lapu-Lapu,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
