Higit 1,000 BI personnel, tatanggap ng COVID-19 vaccine

Makatatanggap na ang mahigit 1,000 tauhan ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ng unang dose ng COVID-19 vaccine simula sa April 23 hanggang 24, 2021.

Ayon kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, target nilang maturukan ang 1,250 BI personnel ng CoronaVac, bakunang gawa ng Sinovac Biotech Ltd.

Itinakda aniya ang schedule ng vaccination sa weekend para hindi maapektuhan ang operasyon ng ahensya.

Alinsunod sa priority list na ibinigay ng IATF, sisimulan ang pagpapabakuna sa mga empleyado na senior citizen at may comorbidities.

“The continuous rise of COVID-19 cases accentuates the need of vaccinate our frontliners, especially those belonging in the most vulnerable group such as the seniors and persons with comorbidities,” saad ng BI chief.

Nais aniyang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga empleyado mula sa banta ng nakamamatay na sakit.

Sinabi ni Morente na magsasagawa ng pre-screening sa medical history ng mga empleyado.

Samantala, nilinaw ni BI Deputy Commissioner at Chairperson ng COVID-19 Taskforce Aldwin Alegre na ipagpapatulot ang pagpapatupad ng basic health protocols sa pagpapabakuna.

“I am confident that as our officers get their jabs, we will be able to carry out our mandate better and with less worry,” pahayag ni Alegre.

Sa ngayon, nasa 300 BI personnel ang tinamaan ng COVID-19.
