DPWH itutulak ang pagtatayo ng dagdag na modular hospitals
Magtatayo pa ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at ahensya na sangkot sa konstruksyon ng temporary treatment at monitoring facilities sa bansa, ng karagdagang off-site hospitals.
Ayon kay DPWH Secretary at Chief Isolation Czar Mark Villar, nagpapatuloy ang capacity expansion ng ilang ospital gamit ang pre-fabricated components para mapabilis ang konstruksyon.
Nagsimula na aniya ang dagdag na pop-up structures sa Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP), Quezon City.
Sa report ni DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain, pinuno ng DPWH Task Force for Augmentation of Local/National Health Facilities, umarangkada na ang ground works ng limang cluster units ng off-site hospital facility na may 110 beds para sa moderate, severe at critical patients.
Bilang infrastructure support sa LCP, nauna nang itinayo ng kagawaran ang modular facilities na may walong fully airconditioned rooms na may dalawang hospital beds kada kwarto upang ma-accommodate ang 16 moderate, severe at critical cases.
Maliban dito, may 16 pang kwarto na may double-decker bed bilang pansamantalang tutuluyan ng health workers na nag-aalaga sa mga pasyente.
Kasunod ng direktiba ni Villar na makipag-ugnayan sa DOH at pamunuan ng mga pampublikong ospital sa Metro Manila para sa dagdag na off-site facilities sa mga bakanteng espasyo, nakipagpulong na si Sadain kay Dr. Noel V. Reyes, Medical Center Chief ng National Center for Mental Health (NCMH).
Natalakay na rito ang preparatory plan at panukalang concept design sa konstruksyon ng Mega Modular Off-Site Hospital sa NCMH compound sa Mandaluyong City.
Ipinanukala rin ng DPWH ang pagtatayo ng tatlong cluster units ng off-site dormitories na may 96 beds bilang pansamantalang tutuluyan ng medical professionals sa NCMH Mega Modular Off-Site Hospital.
