U.S. nag-donate ng P170-M para suportahan ang COVID-19 vaccination drive sa Pilipinas
Nag-donate ang United States government, sa pamamagitan ng United States Agency for International Development (USAID), ng P170 milyon sa Pilipinas upang suportahan ang Department of Health (DOH) sa COVID-19 vaccination rollout sa bansa.
Inanunsiyo ni U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires John Law ang bagong vaccine technical assistance kasabay ng pagbisita sa vaccination site sa Caloocan City, kasama sina Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan, USAID Philippines Mission Director Lawrence Hardy II, at iba pang opisyal.
Sa pamamagitan nito, makatutulong ang USAID sa pagpapatibay ng vaccine supply chain, vaccine safety monitoring, at paghahatid ng epektibong communication campaigns sa vaccine hesitancy.
Maliban dito, makatutulong din ito sa mga local government unit sa pag-plano, pagtutok at pagbibigay ng COVID-19 vaccine.
“While the pandemic has tested our peoples and our economies, the strong bonds between Americans and Filipinos will help us rise above this challenge,” pahayag ni Law.
Sa ngayon, umabot na sa halos P1.3 bilyon ang kabuuang suporta ng U.S. government COVID-19 response ng Pilipinas.
