Bagong LGU position, nabuo sa pagpirma ni Pangulong Duterte sa RA 11535
Magkakaroon na ng karagdagang posisyon sa lahat ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa bansa.
Sinabi ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri na sa pagiging ganap ng batas ng Republic Act 11535, na nag-amyenda sa Local Government Code of 1991, kinakailangang magtalaga ng Cooperatives Development Officer (CDO) sa bawat LGU.
Paliwanag ng senador, na siyang pangunahing may-akda ng panukala, ang CDO ang unang titingin at tutugon sa mga pangangailangan sa sektor ng kooperatiba.
Paglilinaw naman ni Zubiri, maari din namang ibigay ang mga responsibilidad ng CDO sa isa ng regular na kawani, kung hindi pa kakayanin ng kapabilidad ng LGU ang mga benepisyo na nararapat para sa bagong posisyon.
“It’s timely for us to establish CDOs as we emerge from the pandemic. Our cooperatives will really need focused, particularized assistance during this crucial period of recovery. Through our CDOs, we will really be able to reach out to every single cooperative in the nation, and we’ll be better positioned to help Filipinos help themselves,” sabi pa ng senador.
