Halos 1,000 Filipino crew members sakay ng Norwegian vessel, nakauwi na ng Pilipinas

Pinangasiwaan ng maritime sector ng Department of Transportation (DOTr), kabilang ang Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), ang pagdating sa Pilipinas ng halos 1,000 Filipino crew members na sakay ng MV Norwegian Encore sa Port of Manila noong April 11, 2021.

Ayon sa One-Stop Shop for Seafarers in the Port of Manila (OSS-POM), sumailalim ang repatriated Filipino seafarers sa profiling ng Department of Health (DOH).

Dadaan din ang Filipino seafarers sa mandatory quarantine at testing protocols.

Gagamit ang nasabing barko bilang quarantine facility sa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ).

Alinsunod sa crew change protocol ng gobyerno, sasailalim sa swab testing ang mga seafarer sa ika-anim na araw ng kanilang quarantine.

Tiniyak din na may mga doktor at nurse na mag-aasiste sa mga seafarer.

Ang gastos sa swab tests ay sagot ng pondo sa ilalim ng Bayanihan to Recover as One Act o Republic Act No. 1149.

Sa ilaim ng naturang batas, naglaan ang gobyerno ng P270 milyong pondo para sa libreng RT-PCR testing sa mga returning Filipino seafarer upang mapagaan ang negatibong epekto ng pandemya sa seafaring industry.
