163 Filipino mula sa Myanmar, nakauwi na ng Pilipinas

Isingawa ng Department of Foreign Affairs, sa pamamagitan ng Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs at Philippine Embassy sa Yangon, ang ikatlong chartered flight mula Myanmar.

Naiuwi na ng Pilipinas ang 163 Filipino, kabilang ang apat na senior citizen, at 14 menor de edad kasama ang tatlong sanggol.

Karamihan ang mga bagong uwing Filipino ay stranded dahil sa travel restrictions dulot ng COVID-18 pandemic.

Lulan ang mga Filipino ng Philippine Airlines flight at dumating sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport o NAIA, araw ng Huwebes (April 8).

Nakasailalim ang pondo ng nasabing chartered flight, kasama ang dalawa pa mula Yangon, sa DFA Assistance-to-Nationals Fund.

Binigyan ng Philippine Embassy sa Yangon ng transportation at accommodation assistance ang 37 Filipinos mula sa labas ng Yangon.

Sasailalim naman ang lahat ng repatriates ng quarantine protocols.

“The DFA works tirelessly to ensure that Filipinos affected by various travel restrictions throughout the world are given the chance to come home,” ayon kay DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola.

Kasunod ng bagong chartered flights, pumalo na sa 400,000 ang bilang ng overseas Filipinos na na-repatriate simula nang magkaroon ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Mula sa Myanmar, napauwi sa tatlong chartered flights ang kabuuang 334 Filipinos.
