COVID 19 patient nabigyan ng compassionate permit ng FDA para gamitin ang Ivermectin

Binigyan ng compassionate use permit (CUP) ng Food and Drug Administration ang isang ospital para magamit ang anti-parasitic drug na Ivermectin sa isang COVID-19 patient.

Sa Laging Handa public briefing, sinabi ni FDA director general Eric Domingo na binigyan ng special permit ng FDA ang Ivermectin bilang investigational product kontra COVID-19.

Pero paglilinaw ni Domingo, ang ibinigay na permit ay iba sa pending application ng dalawang local manufacturers na humihingi ng certificate of product registration ng Ivermectin.

Ibig sabihin ng compassionate use permit ay pagpayag sa legal administration ng isang gamot sa bansa pero hindi iniindorso ang safety at efficacy ng isang produkto.

Ang Ivermectin ay ginagamit na pang-purga at pangtanggal ng galis sa mga hayop.

Una nang nagbabala si Dr. Edsel Maurice Salvana, miyembro ng Tenchnical Working group ng Inter-Agency task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases na maaring magdulot ng brain damage o ikamatay ang pag-inom ng gamot na Ivermectin.
