Human smuggling sa Metro Manila iimbestigahan ng NBI
Inutusan ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra ang NBI na imbestigahan ang mga ulat ukol sa ‘smuggling’ sa Metro Manila ng mga hindi sumailalim sa COVID 19 testing.
Ginawa ni Guevarra ang hakbang kasunod nang panawagan ni Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade na maimbestigahan ang ilegal na pagpasok ng mga tao sa Metro Manila sa paniniwala na nakakadagdag pa ito sa pagdami ng COVID 19 cases.
“We’ll respond to the call of DOTr Secretary Art Tugade. I’ll direct the NBI to look into these alleged incidents of ‘human smuggling’ and conduct a full-blown investigation if there is any indication that the practice is widespread,” sabi ni Guevarra.
Sa pagbubunyag ni Tugade, sinabi nito na kapalit ng pera, isinasakay ang mga tao sa mga truck at closed van papasok ng Metro Manila at lilipat ang mga ito sa commuter vans.
Diin nito, hindi dapat kinukunsinti ang naturang modus at dapat nang matigil sa katuwiran na nasasayang ang pagsusumikap ng gobyerno na pigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID 19.
Nalimitahan ang galaw ng mga tao sa Metro Manila, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite at Bulacan dahil sa pag-iral muli ng ECQ.
