Bilang ng natatanggap na tawag sa mental health at suicide hotline, tumaas – DOH

Inihayag ng Department of Health (DOH) na tumaas ang bilang ng mga natatanggap na tawag na may kinalaman sa mental health sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Base sa datos ng National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), sinabi ng kagawaran na umabot na sa kabuuang 3,006 katao ang nabigyan ng mental health services sa pamamagitan ng hotline numbers mula January hanggang March 15, 2021.

Ani Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, nasa 1,002 ang monthly average calls habang ang average daily calls naman ay mula 35 hanggang 53.

Nasa 289 naman ang natatanggap na average monthly suicide-related calls.

“This is one of the things na binabantayan natin at saka cognizant tayo doon sa fact na talagang during this pandemic tumaas talaga ang mga consultations natin dito sa hotlines natin for mental health,” pahayag nito.

Tiniyak naman ni Vergeire na tinututukan din ng gobyerno ang mental health concerns ng publiko.
