Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta nagpaalam na sa Korte Suprema
Sa kanyang huling flag raising ceremony bago ang kanyang pagreretiro sa darating na Sabado, naging madamdamin si Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta.
Sa kanyang mensahe, sinabi ni Peralta na labis-labis ang kanyang pasasalamat at kasabay nito ay nakakaramdam siya ng kalungkutan.
“In a few days, I will be retiring from the Supreme Court after working for the past half a century, 34 years of which were spent serving the Judiciary while I look forward to a slower pace of life with my family… I cannot help but feel a tinge of sadness as I will be leaving the realm of public service and my beloved Supreme Court which has been my second home for the past 12 years,” sabi nito sa ilan na dumalo ng Monday flag raising ceremony sa SC compound.
Aniya naging napakahirap sa lahat ang mga nakalipas na buwan dahil sa pandemya.
Sinabi din ni Peralta na kumpiyansa siya na nagawa ng Korte Suprema ang lahat para matugunan ang lahat ng isyu sa hudikatura sa abot ng makakaya ng mga opisyal at kawani ng Kataastaasang Hukuman.
May isa pang taon dapat sa serbisyo si Peralta ngunit sa hindi pa malinaw na kadahilanan ay napaaga ang kanyang pagreretiro.
Samantala, tatlo ang nais na umupo sa babakantehin na puwesto ni Peralta, sina Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe and Associate Justices Alexander Gesmundo at Ramon Paul Hernando.
