Mga guro, iginiit na maisama sa mga prayoridad mabakunahan kontra COVID-19
Hiniling ni Marikina City Rep. Stella Quimbo na isama ang mga guro sa mga prayoridad sa COVID-19 vaccination program ng gobyerno.
Sa inihaing House Joint Resolution No. 35, ipinalilipat ni Quimbo ang mga guro sa A4 mula B1 priority group sa listahan para sa Covid-19 vaccine.
Katuwiran nito, ang mga guro ay frontliners din ng mahalagang sektor ng edukasyon kaya dapat lang na matiyak na magagampanan ng mga ito ang kanilang tungkulin sa pinakaligtas na paraan.
Ayon kay Quimbo, “In this pandemic, teachers are frontliners too. Because there must be continuity in education, teachers are risking their safety to ensure that the learning of students is not hampered by the movement restrictions.”
Paliwanag pa ng kongresista, ang pagsama sa mga guro sa prayoridad sa inoculation program ay mangangahulugan ng mas mabilis na pagbalik ng face-to-face classes.
Ang immunity anya ng mga ito sa virus ang magiging susi para sa pagbubukas ng sektor ng edukasyon.
“Our educators’ immunity from the virus will be key to opening up the sector. It will allow our children to return to learning in more conducive and safe environments,” dagdag ni Quimbo.
Sa ngayon ay ang mga healthcare workers ang top priority sa vaccination program dahil sa pagiging expose nila sa COVID-19.
