Labor Subject Bill sa tertiary, tech-voc education niratipikahan na sa Senado
Pinagtibay na sa Senado ang bicameral conference committee report ukol sa panukala na maisama ang labor education sa curriculum sa mga unibersidad, kolehiyo at technical and vocational schools.
Sinabi ni Sen. Joel Villanueva, magiging daan para sa pagkakaroon ng magandang oportunidad para sa mga negosyante maging sa mga manggagawa ang maayos na relasyon sa pagta-trabaho.
Layon ng panukala na magkaroon ng edukasyon hinggil sa mga batas-paggawa upang maiwasan ang mga paglabag sa labor rights.
“Today, we give our nation a golden opportunity: to attain a situation where labor rights are highly respected, where workplace harmony is the rule and not the exemption, and where our workers can lead a fulfilled life. We made the right decision of where this change must begin – in our schools, right inside our classrooms,” sabi ng namumuno sa Senate Committee on Labor.
Sa batas, bibigyan kapangyarihan ang Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) na bumuo ng programa para sa pagkakaroon ng labor subject sa tertiary education.
