Kampaniya laban sa NPA, matutulad sa palpak na ‘war on drugs’ – Bishop Broderick Pabillo

Naniniwala si Bishop Broderick Pabillo na matutulad lang sa ikinakasang kampaniya kontra droga ang counter-insurgency campaign ng gobyerno.

Aniya tulad ng ‘war on drugs’ hindi magtatagumpay ang kampaniya para wakasan ang isyu sa komunistang grupo kasunod nang pagkakapatay ng awtoridad sa siyam na miyembro ng progresibong grupo sa Timog Katagalugan.

“How many thousands were killed? How many were the collateral damages? Was the number of drug users in the country reduced?” banggit ni Bishop Pabillo sa kanyang homily sa pagselebra ng misa sa St. Pius X Parish kahapon.

Dagdag pa nito; “It will suffer the same fate for this campaign against those accused of being communists. It will also be a failure because these are acts done in the dark.”

Diin niya na tila hindi na natututo ang awtoridad na walang mabuting naidudulot ang maling pag-akusa, pagsisinungaling at pagpatay.

Kasabay nito, kinondena din niya ang ‘nanlaban,’  ang madalas na ikinakatuwiran ng mga pulis sa tuwing may napapatay silang mga suspek.
