Mas maraming operational train sa LRT-2, inaasahang mapapatakbo sa Abril

Inaasahang mas marami pang operational trains ang mapapatakbo sa Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) sa buwan ng April.

Ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr), kasabay ito ng pagbubukas ng East Extension Project.

Ayon kay Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Administrator Reynaldo Berroya, minamadali na ang restoration ng tatlong train set para maging siyam na minuto na lang ang kasalukuyang 14 minutong headway sa linya ng tren.

Makatutulong din aniya ito upang madagdagan pa ng humigit-kumulang 20,000 pasahero ang average daily ridership sa LRT-2.

“As train occupancy of passengers is regulated during this time of pandemic with passenger safety as our top priority, deploying additional trains will certainly help us cut the travel time of our commuters,” pahayag ni Berroya.

Sinimulan ng LRT-2 maintenance provider AMSCO JV at manufacturer Woojin Industrial Systems Co, Ltd ang installation ng train propulsion system at train monitoring system ng tatlong train set sa LRT-2 Depot Maintenance Area noong March 3.
