4.5 milyong doses ng AstraZeneca Covid vaccine darating sa Pilipinas sa Mayo

Inanunsyo ng World Health Organization na may kabuuang 4.5 milyong doses ng Covid 19 vaccine na gawa ng AstraZeneca ang darating sa bansa bago matapos ang buwan ng Mayo.
Ito ang inanunsyon ni WHO country representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe sa pagdating ng 487,200 doses ng AstraZeneca vaccine kagabi, Marso 4 sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport sa Pasay City.
“The consignment received today will be followed by up to 4.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, scheduled to arrive before the end of May in batches,” pahayag ni Abeyasinghe.
Ayon kay Abeyasinghe, ang natanggap na bakuna ng Pilipinas mula sa COVAX facility ay makapagbibigay proteksyon ng 20 percent sa mga Filipino.
“‘In addition to other vaccines stated to be delivered to the Philippines through the COVAX— vaccines delivered through COVAX will protect up 20 percent of the population in the Philippines during this year,” pahayag ng opisyal.
Ayon sa opisyal, ang pagdating ng mga bakuna sa bansa ay patunay ng pagkakaisa ng bawat isa.
Kasama ng Pangulo na sumalubong sa mga bakuna sina Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.
Matatandaann na noong February 28 lamang, dumating sa bansa ang 600,000 doses ng Covid vaccine na gawa ng Sinovac ng China.
