Bagong pagawaan at smuggled na sigarilyo, nasabat sa Bataan

Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang ilang cigarette making machines, smuggled na sigarilyo at ilang paraphernalia sa paggawa nito sa storage facilities sa Barangay Balagtas sa Orion, Bataan noong March 1, 2021.

Nakuha ang mga kagamitan sa pamamagitan ng simultaneous operations na ikinasa ng Enforcement Group’s Enforcement and Security Service Quick Reaction Team (EG-ESS QRT).

Armado ng Letters of Authority (LOA) na pirmado ni Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, nag-inspeksyon ang mga miyembro ng BOC-ESS, katuwang ang Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) at Philippine National Police (PNP), sa dalawang storage facilities.

Dito nadiskubre ang tinatayang P131 milyong halaga ng mga ilegal na kagamitan.

Nakuha sa unang operasyon ang cigarette making machines at iba pang paraphernalia tulad ng rolling paper, foil at plastic packaging na nagkakahalaga ng P84 milyon.

Narekober naman sa ikalawang operasyon ang 1,262 master cases ng smuggled na sigarilyo na may brand na More, Two Moon, Seven Star, Winston, Fort, Mighty, at Marvels na may estimated value na P47 milyon.

Dinala ang mga nakuhang kagamitan sa BOC facility sa Maynila para sa inventory at mas masusing imbestigasyon para sa posibleng pagsasampa ng kaso dahil sa paglabag sa Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
