Napauwing overseas Filipinos sa bansa, higit 372,000 na – DFA
Umabot na sa isang taon ang repatriation efforts ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa gitna ng pandemya dahil sa COVID-19.
Sa huling tala hanggang February 27, 2021, umabot sa 372,730 overseas Filipinos ang napauwi sa repatriation efforts ng kagawaran.
Sa nasabing bilang, 101,558 ang seafarers habang 271,172 naman ang land-based overseas Filipinos.
Sa nagdaang linggo, 3,994 overseas Filipinos ang nakabalik ng Pilipinas.
Kabilang dito ang distressed fishermen mula sa Indonesia, 59 overseas Filipinos mula sa Myanmar at pitong TIP victims sa Syria.
Siniguro ng kagawaran na tuloy pa rin ang kanilang pagtulong sa mga Filipino na stranded sa ibang bansa dahil sa COVID-19 travel restrictions.
