55 pang overseas Filipinos mula Myanmar, nakabalik na ng Pilipinas

Nakauwi na ng Pilipinas ang 55 pang overseas Filipinos mula sa Myanmar.

Inayos ng Department of Foreign Affairs, sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Embassy sa Yangon at Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs ang ika-14 COVID-19 relief flight mula sa nasabing bansa.

Lulan ng Myanmar National Airlines flight, dumating ang repatriates sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) bandang 1:25, Miyerkules ng hapon.

“The DFA through its network of 94 Philippine Embassies and Consulates General across the globe is always ready to assist our overseas Filipinos who wish to return to the Philippines due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in their host countries,” pahayag ni DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr.

Tuloy pa rin ang pag-aayos ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas ng mga biyahe para maihatid ang ilang Filipino abroad na nais nang umuwi ng Pilipinas.

“Wherever they are, if they are distressed Filipinos overseas, the Department can make use of the Assistance-to-Nationals Fund including the Legal Assistance Fund to provide timely and proactive service to overseas Filipinos in need,” ani DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola.

Hanggang February 20, 2021, umabot na sa 368,736 ang bilang ng overseas Filipinos na nakabalik ng bansa simula nang ikasa ang COVID-19-related repatriations noong February 2020.
