Resolusyon para hikayatin ang IATF na isama sa prayoridad na babakunahan vs COVID-19 ang mga atleta, in-adopt na ng House panel

Tinanggap ng House Committee on Youth and Sports ang House Resolution 1507 na inakda ni House Deputy Speaker Michael Romero na humihimok sa pamahalaan na gawing prayoridad ang mga Pilipinong atleta sa vaccination program laban sa COVID-19.

Sa resolusyon ni Romero, hiniling nito sa Inter-Agency Task Force o IATF na ituring ang mga atleta bilang “frontliners” upang maisama sa prayoridad sa COVID-19 vaccination.

Partikular na aniya rito ang Pinoy athletes na sasabak sa Tokyo Olympics sa July 23 hanggang August 8; at 2021 SEA Games na gaganapin sa Vietnam sa Nov. 22 hanggang Dec. 02, 2021.

Kasama rin sa in-adopt ng komite na pinamumunuan ni Rep. Faustino Michael Dy V, ang iba pang mga atleta na sasabak sa iba pang international sports competition tulad ng ASEAN Games, Summer Paralympics at iba pa.

Ayon naman kay Philippine Sports Commission o PSC chair William Ramirez, nauna na rin silang lumiham sa IATF para hilingin na mabakunahan ang mga atleta, nang hindi maba-bypass o makakasagasa ng ibang nasa priority list.

Handa aniya ang mg atleta na magpaturok at boluntaryo ito pero sa Tokyo Olympics ay hindi naman nabanggit na obligado ang mga atleta na magpabakuna.
