Road safety at kaligtasan ng publiko prayoridad ng mga operator ng MVIC
Nanindigan ang Vehicle Inspection Center Owners Association of the Philippines, Inc (VICOAP) na ang kanilang layunin ay suportahan ang road safety sa bansa at kaligtasan ng publiko na ninanais ng pamahalaan.
Sa isang statement sinabi ng VICOAP, ang kanilang partnership sa Department of Transporation at Land Transportation Office ay para paglingkuran ang publiko kabilang na ang mga drivers, bikers, vehicle owners, iba pang mga motorista, mga pasahero at maging ang mga pedestrian.
Nakasaad sa statement ng VICOAP na, “Public service and road safety were the reasons why we recently lowered our testing fees and waived our retesting fees, in response to government requests as well as the clamor of a people struggling financially because of the pandemic.”
Iginiit din ng mga ito na handa sila sa iba pang oportunidad upang makipagtulungan sa gobyerno para sa kanilang mga nais na makabubuti sa bansa.
Sabi pa ng VICOAP, “Our compliance with government rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, particularly the Facebook Live proceedings, started and have continued from the very first day we heeded our national leaders’ call to improve road safety in the country, and we did so without hesitation. In the matter of fairness and equal opportunity, our members also wholeheartedly welcomed procedures such as Draw Lots and Toss Coin in determining who among equally compliant and competent applicants were awarded.”
Nanindigan din ang grupo na sumunod at nagsumite sila ng mga kinakailangang dokumento sa mga kinauukulan simula noong itayo ang mga Private Motor Vehicle Inspection Centers (PMVICs) upang mabigyan sila ng tiwala at mapangyarihan na magsagawa ng road safety test sa mga sasakyan.
Isinumite anla ang mga kinakailangang mga impormasyon at dokumento para sa 80 centers sa DOTr at LTO.
Nauna nang ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na hindi na mandatory ang motor vehicle inspection system (MVIS) kahit na inihayag ng VICOAP na babaan ang kanilang sinisingil at hindi mangolekta ng reinspection fee sa loob ng isang taon.
