Mataas na bilang ng nabubuntis na kabataan nais ni Sen. Nancy Binay masilip sa Senado
Naghain ng resolusyon si Senator Nancy Binay para mabusisi ng Senado ang nakakaalarmang pagdami ng mga nabubuntis na kabataan.
Sa Senate Resolution No. 650, sinabi ni Binay na sa datos ng Philippine Statistics Authority, sa Metro Manila at Calabarzon may mga babae na edad 10 ang nanganganak.
“Tens of thousands of adolescents die annually of causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. In fact, these are the leading cause of death among adolescent girls, aged 15-19 globally,” banggit ni Binay sa kanyang resolusyon.
Sa ulat naman ng Commission on Population, noong 2019, tumaas ng pitong porsiyento ang mga nagiging ina sa edad 14 pababa, mula sa 62,341 umakyat sa 62,510.
“Whereas, 2,411 girls aged 10 to 14 gave birth in 2019, revealing an average of seven births every day with Calabarzon, NCR, and Central Luzon registering the highest incidence. Other regions like Northern Mindanao, Davao and Central Visayas also logged a record high,” sabi pa ng senadora.
Nais ni Binay na mabusisi ang mga programa at polisiya ng gobyerno para hindi maiwasan ang pagbubuntis ng mga kabataan.
