Sen. Lacson, bumuwelta sa banat sa kanya ni Pangulong Duterte

Nanindigan si Senator Panfilo Lacson na mali ang pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na walang karapatan ang mga senador sa usapin ukol sa Philippine – US Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).

Sa kanyang tweet, ipinaalala ni Lacson sa Punong Ehekutibo ang nakasaad sa Article VII Section 21 ng 1987 Constitution.

“Mr. President, read the 1987 Constitution. A senator has something to do with international agreements. Article VII Section 21. No treaty or international agreement shall be valid and effective unless concurred in by at least two-thirds of all the Members of the Senate,” ang tweet ng senador.

Sinabi pa nito na hindi man siya abogado gaya ni Pangulong Duterte, alam niya ang nakasaad sa Konstitusyon.

“I may not be a lawyer like him. Last time I read the Constitution, a senator has something to do with international agreements. The President should refresh his memory by reading Article VII Section 21 of the 1987 Constitution,” sabi nito sa hiwalay na pahayag na inilabas ng kanyang opisina.

Ang banat ni Pangulong Duterte ay nag-ugat sa reaksyon ni Lacson sa paniningil ng Malakanyang sa US para maipagpatuloy ang VFA.

Sinabi ng senador na nagmumukhang mangongotong ang mga Filipino bagay hindi nagustuhan ng Malakanyang.
