Measles vaccination drive sa Maynila, target matapos bago dumating ang COVID-19 vaccines

Target ng Manila Health Department (MHD) na matapos ang pagsasagawa ng vaccination drive laban sa measles at rubella bago dumating ang mga bakuna kontra COVID-19 sa Pilipinas.

Ayon kay Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold ‘Poks’ Pangan, kailangang matapos ang measles vaccination drive bago ang pagdating ng COVID-19 upang matutukan ang gagawing vaccination activities sa nakakahawang sakit.

Sa ngayon, nasa 38,603 bata na may edad siyam hanggang 59 buwan ang nabakunahan sa ilalim ng “Chikiting Ligtas sa dagdag bakuna kontra Tigdas at Rubella” program.

Katumbas ito ng 27.10 porsyento ng target ng MHD na 146,000 bata sa kalagitnaan ng Pebrero.

“If we can do it in two weeks time, mas maganda po kasi baka dumating na ’yung COVID-19 vaccine. Baka magdodoble-doble pa po ‘yung trabaho nila, so pinipilit natin na bilisan pa para po mas ma-achive natin yung goal natin the soonest possible time,” pahayag nito.

“Kami naman po sa Manila Health Department kung ano po ‘yung kaya naming gawin na mas mabilis, na mas epektibo at episyente, gagawin namin iyon para in case dumating [ang COVID-19 vaccine], nakahanda po ang empleyado ng Manila Health Department,” dagdag pa nito.
