Moreno, inaprubahan ang plano ng UST na magsagawa ng limited face-to-face classes sa medical, allied health programs

Inaprubahan ni Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno ang plano ng University of Santo Tomas (UST) na magsagawa ng limited face-to-face classes para sa kanilang medical at allied health programs sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ito ay matapos makipagpulong ang mga opisyal ng UST sa alkalde upang matalakay kung paano nila masusunod ang health and safety protocols, occupancy capacity, at ipatutupad na contingency plans sa mga estudyante, faculty o staffers na magkakaroon ng sintomas ng COVID-19.

“Consider it approved. We will just follow the memoranda of CHED,” ayon kay Moreno.

Nagpaalala naman ang alkalde sa UST officials na hindi pipilitin ang mga estudyante na tatangging makiisa sa limited face-to-face classes.

Inihayag din ni Moreno sa pulong na kabilang ang mga guro sa bibigyang-prayoridad sa COVID-19 vaccination program sa lungsod.

“Teachers will be included in the first batch for the vaccine. Whether you’re a Manilan or a non-Manilan, as long as you’re working here in Manila, you will be included in the list for vaccine,” pahayag ni Moreno.

“Sa bagong semestre eh (hopefully) by that time, nabakunahan ko na ‘yung nanay at tatay, at ‘yung magtuturo, mas maliit ang tsansa na mag-blowout ang infection sa school. It will infect some, but it will deflect dahil matibay na ang katawan,” dagdag pa nito.
