BOC, nakatanggap ng radiation detection equipment mula Amerika
Nakatanggap ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) ng radiation detection equipment mula sa United States Department of Energy Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (US DOE NSDD), araw ng Lunes (February 1).
Masusuportahan ng apat na Radioisotope Identification Device Radseeker CS at dalawang Radiation Pagers ang detection operations ng na-install na Megaports Radiation Detection System sa Port of Manila, Manila International Container Port at Port of Cebu.
Sa pamamagitan ng naturang donasyon, inaasahang mapapabuti ang kakayahan ng Pilipinas sa pag-monitor at pagprotekta sa borders ng bansa laban sa mga radioactive materials na maaaring gamitin sa paggawa ng nuclear weapons.
Nagpasalamat naman si Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero sa gobyerno ng Amerika para sa ipinarating na logistical support.
