Diversion road patungong Calbayog Airport, isasagawa ng DPWH

Magtatayo ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng Capoocan-Dagum Diversion Road sa Samar Province.

Batay sa ulat ni Region 8 Director Nerie Bueno kay DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, magmumula ang panukalang Capoocan-Dagum Diversion Road sa tabi ng Matobato Elementary School sa Barangay Capoocan patungo sa intersection ng Caramel Subdivision at Pagbalican Road at aabot sa endpoint sa Calbayog Diversion Road sa Barangay Dagum.

Sinabi ni Villar na target nitong masolusyunan ang mabigat na daloy ng trapiko sa Daang Maharlika tuwing peak hours simula sa Barangay Matobato.

“The diversion road will serve as a way once the ‘timbol’ and ‘pedicabs’ are not allowed to pass along main highways,” ayon sa kagawaran.

Ang proyekto ay may habang 1.156 kilometers na may apat na lanes, dagdag na dalawang bicycle lanes, at dalawang pedestrian lane sa magkabilang direksyon.

Magtatayo rin ng drainage structure sa mga lugar na binabaha.

“This will open a lot of opportunities not only to big businesses but also to small and local trades in the city. Projections and visions of the needed infrastructures is vital for the realization of a flourishing economy,“ pahayag ni Secretary Villar.
