Sen. Poe: Hanapan muna ng pera ang tao para may panggastos
Hiniling ni Senator Grace Poe sa gobyerno na tugunan muna ang problema ng kawalan ng trabaho o kabuhayan ang maraming Filipino para pasiglahin ang ekonomiya bago payagan na makalabas na ang mga bata.
“They’ve been telling people to go out and spend to prop up the economy. But before they can spend, they need to have the money to do so. Allowing kids to go out doesn’t address that problem,” diin ng senadora.
Bumagsak ang ekonomiya sa pinakamababa noong nakaraang taon dahil sa COVID-19 crisis at ito ay huling nangyari noong 1945 matapos ang World War 2.
Aniya, malaking bahagi ng sektor ng paggawa ang talagang naapektuhan at ang tanging gumasgasta na lang ng malaki ay ang gobyerno.
“Economists and businessmen have been calling for a stronger fiscal stimulus since last year to prevent the closure of companies and prevent the loss of jobs. If we are to heal as one, we need to listen to all stakeholders. Wage subsidies would have put money in people’s pockets so they can spend,” sabi pa nito.
Banggit niya, isa na ang Pilipinas sa may pinakamahabang pagpapatupad ng quarantine restrictions sa buong mundo at isa sa mga bunga nito ay ang pigil na paggasta ng mga konsyumer.
