AFP General na sangkot sa maling Red tagging sa UP, naghain ng leave of absence

Naghain na ng leave of absence si Major General Benedict Arevalo, ang deputy chief of staff ng civil military operations ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Ito ay dahil sa palpak na listahan ng mga miyembro ng New People’s Army na ipinost sa social media na Facebook.

Sa statement ni Arevalo, sinabi nito na liliban na muna siya sa trabaho para bigyang daan ang ginagawang imbestigasyon.

“In the light of these developments, I will go on leave of absence so as not to influence the ongoing investigation,” pahayag ni Arevalo said.

Inaako ni Arevalo ang responsabilidad.

“I personally take responsibility of their actions. This is the reason why I issued a public apology and reiterated it in my succeeding interviews,” pahayag ng opisyal.

Matatandaan na noong nakaraang linggo, ipinost ng AFP Information Exchange sa Facebook ang listahan ng mga umanoy graduate ng University of the Philippines na napatay o nahuli ng militar.

Ang tanggapan ni Arevalo ang humahawak sa Facebook account.

Kahapon lamang, sinibak ni sa puwesto ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana si Major General Alex Luna, deputy chief of staff ng Intelligence unit dahil sa pagiging source ng maling listahan.
