Hinahanap na ng ang Department of Health (DOH) ang walo pang overseas Filipinos na posibleng pinagmulan ng bagong UK variant ng COVID-19 sa Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Sa press briefing, sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na base sa pag-review sa kanilang triaging system, walong OFW ang bumalik sa Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Hinihintay pa aniya ang resulta ng isinagawang swab test sa returning Filipinos upang ma-trace ang pinagmulan ng impeksyon sa naturang lugar.

“Atin pong kukunin pa ‘yung further details nito and what were the RT-PCR results of these people so that we can identify kung sino pa ang pwede nating makuhang detalye kung saan galing ang impeksyon na ito,” ani Vergeire.

Sa ngayon, nasa 17 katao na ang kumpirmadong tinamaan ng UK variant ng COVID-19.
