Pagboto ng Senado at Kamara sa Cha-cha, naresolba na – SP Sotto

Natuldukan na ang matagal ng pinagdedebatehan na pagboto ng Senado at Kamara sa pagbabago sa Saligang Batas, ayon kay Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Sa pagdinig ng Committee on Constitutional Amendments, sinabi ni Sotto na base sa pahayag ng resource persons, tama na hiwalay ang pagboto ng mga senador at kongresista.

“The Constitution mentions voting separately, I think, three or four times. And only once has it mentioned that we vote jointly and that is only in the case of Martial law. So I think that issue is resolved, definitely,” aniya.

Sinabi nito na maging si House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco ay sumang-ayon.

Samantala, inihain ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson ang Senate Resolution 623 kaugnay sa mga hakbang na baguhin ang ilang nilalaman ng 1987 Constitution.

“My resolution when adopted will clarify unequivocally that voting to revise or amend certain provisions of the 1987 constitution will be done separately via 3/4 votes of the respective members of the Senate and House of Representatives, each voting in plenary,” paliwanag ni Lacson.

Paliwanag nito, sa kanyang resolusyon at sa ginagawa na ngayon sa Kamara mapapanindigan na dapat hiwalay ang pagboto ng mga senador at kongresista.
