P60-M halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo, nasabat ng BOC

Nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs Manila International Container Port (BOC-MICP) ang P60 milyong halaga ng smuggled na sigarilyo.

Dadalhin sana ang mga sigqrilyo sa Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) zone sa Cavite.

Nagmula ang shipment sa China at naka-consign sa isang YJC International Corporation.

Unang idineklara ang shipment na naglalaman ng plastic frames, round tubes, plastic bags, at plastic sheets.

Sa physical examination, nadiskubreng naglalaman ito ng 1,599 packages ng sigarilyo na may brand na Mighty.

Inilabas ang warrant of seizure and detention (WSD) dahil sa paglabag sa Section 117, na may kinalaman Section 1113 ng Republic Act (RA) No. 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), at iba pang guidelines na itinakda ng National Tobacco Administration (NTA) at Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations.

Nangako ang BOC MICP na mananatili silang mapgmatyag sa pagbabantay ng teritoryo at ekonomiya ng bansa laban sa mga smuggler.
