MMDA Chairman Abalos inihirit sa DPWH ang maliwanag na mga kalsada
Hiniling ni MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos sa DPWH na tiyakin na maayos ang mga ilaw sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa Manila.
Katuwiran ni Abalos napakahalaga ng mga ilaw sa lansangan para mabawasan kundi man maiwasan ang mga aksidente.
“Public safety is our utmost priority. Only one busted or broken light would endanger lives,” paliwanag nito sa pakikipagpulong sa mga opisyal ng Department of Transportation.
Dagdag pa niya, “without the street lights, our motorists and commuters are in danger. Part of road safety is making the road visible to all its users.”
Nangako naman si Public Works Usec. Rovert Bernardo na agad aayusin ang mga ilaw sa mga pangunahing lansangan sa loob ng 10 araw.
Ipinahiwatig lang ni Bernardo ang isyu ukol sa pagnanakaw sa mga ilaw at ibang electrical fixtures sa mga lansangan, kasama na sa mga tunnel at underpass.
