Pagkamatay ng 3 sundalo sa Bicol iniimbestigahan na ng CHR

Sinimulan na ng Commission on Human Rights ang sariling imbestigasyon sa pagkamatay ng tatlong sundalo sa ambush na ikinasa diumano ng NPA sa Legazpi City noong nakaraang araw ng Linggo.

Sinabi ni CHR spokesperson Atty. Jacqueline Ann de Guia nasimulan na ng kanilang regional office ang paunang imbestigasyon sa ngalan ng katotohanan at hustisya.

Nasawi sa insidente sa Barangay 66 – Banquerohan sina Corporal Joemar Maravilla, Privates Ronald Zamora at Reymar Palencia, samantalang nasugatan naman si Sgt. Ferdinand Ignas.

Kasabay nito, kinondena ng CHR ang nangyaring karahasan, na isinalarawan na walang saysay at nagpahatid na rin ng mensahe sa pakikiramay sa mga naulila.

“While every individual has the absolute right to believe or subscribe to any ideology, the right to act in accordance with one’s belief cannot be absolute. Individual conduct remains subject to laws and regulation of the State, which may even include prohibition of certain acts for the protection of society,” sabi ni de Guia.
