Palasyo, hindi maintindihan ang pag-uugali ng mga senador sa pagdinig ukol sa COVID-19 vaccination program
Hindi maintindihan ng Palasyo ng Malakanyang ang pag-uugali ng mga senador sa ginawang pagdinig kaugnay sa COVID-19 vaccination program ng pamahalaan.
Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, naging war-like at bellicose o mistulang naging mandirigma ang mga senador.
Hindi kasi nagustuhan ng mga Senador ang pagtanggi ni vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. na isapubliko ang presyo ng mga bibilhing bakuna ng pamahalaan kontra COVID-19.
Ayon kay Roque, mistulang ipinakikita ng mga senador na mayroon nang korupsyon sa pagbili ng bakuna gayung wala naman.
Bagamat iginagalang aniya ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang separation of powers ng ehekutibo at lehislatura, hindi naman ito nangangahulugan na binibigyan na ng lisensya ang mga Senador na maging abusado sa mga pananalita.
Una rito, pinayuhan ni Pangulong Duterte si Galvez na dumalo sa pagdinig ng Senado sa Biyernes, January 22, kaugnay sa COVID-19 vaccination program.
Pero kapag naging abusado na aniya ang mga Senador, maaari nang umalis si Galvez at hindi na tapusin ang pagdalo sa pagdinig.
“He (President Duterte) could not understand why the demeanor of the senators were apparently bellicose-like, they were war-like, ‘no. And of course, there was like already an attitude as if there was corruption going on, when it was fact finding in fact, ‘no. So, the President thought, you know, despite the separation of powers and despite the power of oversight, it does not give the senators the license to be abusive,” pahayag ni Roque.
