Daang libong medical frontliners, makikinabang sa panukalang tax relief sa kanila

Aabot sa halos 300,000 medical frontliners ang makikinabang sa oras na maisabatas ang tax relief para sa kanila.

Ayon sa may-akda ng panukala na si Ways and Means Chairman Joey Salceda, aabot sa 270,000 medical frontliners ang mabebenepisyuhan ng income tax discounts.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, bibigyan ng 25 porsyentong discount sa kanilang income tax ang medical professionals na nagbibigay serbisyo sa gitna ng pandemya.

Sakop ng benepisyong ito hindi lamang ang mga doctor at nurse kundi pati ang ibang medical frontliners tulad ng administrative employees, support personnel at staff of medical institutions anuman ang kanilang employment status.

Umaasa ang mambabatas na sa katapusan ng Enero ay tuluyang maaaprubahan sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukalang tax relief upang agad na mapakinabangan ng medical frontliners.

Nauna nang naaprubahan sa Committee on Rules ang panukala na layuning ipakita ang pagkilala at pasasalamat ng gobyerno sa natatanging serbisyo ng medical frontliners na humaharap sa panganib ng COVID-19 pandemic.
