Duterte, dinepensahan ang pagbili ng COVID-19 vaccine mula sa China

Dinepensahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang naging desisyon ni vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. na bumili ng COVID-19 vaccine sa Chinese biopharmaceutical company na Sinovac Biotech.

Ito ay kasunod ng mga lumalabas na kritisismo ukol sa nasabing bakuna.

“The bakuna that Secretary Galvez is buying is as good as any other bakuna na naimbento ng mga Amerikano at Europeans,” pahayag ng pangulo sa pulong kasama ang mga miyembro ng Gabinete, Miyerkules ng gabi (January 13).

Hindi aniya nagkulang ang Chinese company sa pagbuo ng epektibong bakuna laban sa nakakahawang sakit.

“Hindi nagkulang ang Chinese. Hindi sila nagkulang sa utak. Bright itong mga Instik and they would not venture kung hindi sapat, safe, sure and secure,” ani Duterte.

“Ako, kung ano ang piliin ni Secretary Galvez, would bind me. Parang ako na rin ang bumili ng bakuna,” dagdag ng pangulo.

Giit nito, hindi siya bibili ng bakuna na hindi tama at epektibo.

Nakapag-secure na ang Pilipinas ng 25 milyong dose ng COVID-19 vaccine mula sa Sinovac.
