DOH, nilinaw na walang na-detect na bagong SARS-COV-2 variant sa NCR

Nagbigay-linaw ang Department of Health (DOH) ukol sa mga kumakalat na social media na mayroong na-detect na bagong SARS-COV-2 variant sa Metro Manila.

“The Department of Health and the Philippine Genome Center, to date, have not detected the UK variant, or any new variant of SARS-COV-2 in any of the positive samples tested,” saad sa inilabas na pahayag ng kagawaran.

Tiniyak din ng DOH at PGC na mahigpit silang nagtutulungan upang mapaigting ang nagpapatuloy na biosurveillance efforts.

Kasunod nito, umapela ang DOH sa publiko na iwasan ang pagkakalat ng mga hindi beripikadong impormasyon upang hindi magdulot ng kalituhan.

“Furthermore, whether or not a new variant is detected, the DOH reiterates that strict adherence to Minimum Public Health Standards is the best defense against COVID-19 and strongly urges the public to continue practicing MPHS across all settings to lower the rate of infection and reduce the risk of viral mutation,” dagdag pa nito.
