Paglagda ni Pangulong Duterte upang maging batas ang ALS Act, malaking tulong sa mga guro

Tiwala si House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez na malaki ang maitutulong sa mga guro sa pagsasabatas ng Alternative Learning System (ALS) Act.

Ayon kay Romualdez, isa sa pangunahing may-akda ng ALS Act, mabibigyan rin ng pagkakataon ang mga ALS teacher na ma-promote sa mas mataas na posisyon na base sa qualification standards ng CSC.

Sa ganitong paraan aniya ay hindi lamang buhay ng mga out-of-school ang mababago kundi mapapaunlad din ang buhay ng mga guro.

Sinabi naman ni Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, isa rin sa may-akda ng batas, na higit na magpapalakas sa suporta ng estado upang makumpleto ng mga learners ang functional literacy, life skills at basic education na nararapat para sa kanila.

Sa ilalim ng ALS Law, lilikha ang Department of Education (DepEd) kasama ang Department of Budget and Management at Civil Service Commission (CSC) ng teaching position na may katapat na Salary Grade para sa ALS teachers.

Sakop ng ALS system ang mga out-of-school na kabataan, adult learner, maging ang mga Madrasah students, indigenous peoples, learners with disabilities, at mga kabilang sa marginalized sectors.
