P7-M halaga ng ukay-ukay, nasabat ng BOC

Nasamsam ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Manila ang dalawang containers na naglalaman ng ukay-ukay noong December 29, 2020.

Sa pamamagitan ng alert order na inilabas na District Collector Michael Angelo Vargas katuwang ang BOC Intelligence Group, naka-consign ang kargamento sa isang MGGF INTERNATIONAL TRADING CORP.

Pumasok sa bansa ang kargamento sa gitna ng Christmas Holidays mula China at unang idineklara bilang tissue.

Sa ginawang eksaminasyon, lumabas na ukay-ukay items ang laman ng shipment na nagkakahalaga ng P7.853 milyon.

Lumabag ito sa Section 1400 na may kinalaman sa Section 1113 ng Republic Act 10863 o Customs Modernization and Tattif Act (CMTA).

Tiniyak naman ni Vargas na hindi papayagan ng Port of Manila na makapasok ang smuggled goods sa bansa.

Patuloy ding magiging alert ang ahensya sa pagprotekta sa bansa laban sa curb smuggling.
