COVID-19 vaccines dapat VAT-exempt kung naipasa ang CREATE Bill – Sen. Pia Cayetano

Hindi na papatawan sana ng value added tax o VAT ang mga ipapasok sa Pilipinas na anti-COVID-19 vaccines gayundin ang mga materyales na gagamitin sa vaccination program kung sinang-ayunan na ng Kamara ang bersyon ng Senado ng Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Bill.

Ito ang paniniwala ni Sen. Pia Cayetano at aniya dagok ito sa ilalatag ng gobyerno na immunization program at aniya sang-ayon siya sa nais ni House Ways and Means Committee Chair Joey Salceda na data ay VAT-exempted ang mga bakuna.

Paalala nito, ang VAT exemption sa bakuna ay nakasaad sa Senate version ng panukala at kabilang dito sa tax-free ang mga gamot, gamit, kagamitan at materyales na kakailanganin sa pagtugon sa pandemya mula sa susunod na taon hanggang sa taon 2023.

Pumasa na ang panukala sa Senado noong Nobyembre 26, ngunit hindi sa Mababang Kapulungan.
