33 PDLs sa Bilibid napalaya; nakapagdiwang ng Pasko kapiling ang pamilya
Tatlumpu’t tatlong preso sa New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) ang nakalaya at nakapiling ang kanilang pamilya nitong nagdaang Pasko.
Sa update mula sa Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) noong mismong araw ng Pasko, December 25 ay 18 PDLs ang napalaya.
Kabilang dito ang 5 PDLs na napawalang-sala at 13 ang natapos ang sentensya.
Noon namang December 26, 15 pang PDLs ang nakalaya din matapos mapagkalooban ng parole.
Ayon kay BuCor Director General Gerald Bantag, maituturing itong “best gift” sa mga PDL ngayong Christmas season.
“It may not feel may not feel Christmas that much because of our current situation, what’s important is that our family and loved ones are all safe and in good shape. Christmas is a season of giving and what a better way of giving back is sending these PDLs back to their loved ones at home,” ayon sa BuCor.
