Mga kaso ng pagpatay, hiniling ng ilang senador na maimbestigahan sa Senado
Inihirit ng anim na senador na maimbestigahan sa Senado ang mga nangyayaring pagpatay sa mga sibilyan, kasama na ang mga doktor, abogado, mamamahayag at mga miyembro ng iba’t ibang propesyon.
Sina Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, Sens. Sherwin Gatchalian, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, Grace Poe at Joel Villanueva ang mga awtor ng Resolution No. 600.
Nais ng mga senador na malaman kung may butas sa pagpapatupad ng mga batas, kung nabibigyan hustisya ang mga biktima at matigil na ang pagkakasangkot ng mga awtoridad sa mga karahasan.
Pinuna ng anim na senador na sa kabila ng pandemya, mula Hulyo hanggang Disyembre, 15 professionals na kinabibilangan ng mga doktor, abogado at mamamahayag ang pinatay.
Kasama na rin sa masisilip sa Senado ang pagpatay sa mag-inang Sonya at Anthony Gregorio sa Paniqui, Tarlac maging ang pagpatay kay dating Court of Appeals Justice Normandie Pizarro.
“The series of killings in the past six months of at least 15 people from members of various professions, including lawyers and journalists, and other members of the community, exacerbated by the fact that justice remains elusive for the victims and their families, highlight the need to launch an inquiry, in aid of legislation, to identify the gaps in law enforcement,” banggit ng mga senador sa resolusyon.
